The Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation funded a five-year professorship in a multidisciplinary North American Studies programme to be developed at the Department of History of the University of Tampere.

PhD Katri K. Sieberg was appointed Professor of North American studies. She will give her inauguration lecture on Wednesday, 28 March 2007.

The donation sum is EUR 500,000.
