The Foundation has granted the largest donation in its history to the international research centre of molecular medicine that will be established at the University of Helsinki. The research centre will be developed into an international top unit that will employ approximately 200 leading researchers in the field. The unit’s research will focus on finding out the factors leading to the emergence of cancer, among other areas.
The institute will start operating in 2007.
The total donation sum is EUR 2,500,000.
