November 16, 2006 was the hundredth anniversary of the death of poet J. H. Erkko. Honouring his memory, the municipalities of Orimattila and Tuusula, and the Päivälehti magazine archives put together a special programme spanning the entire year and containing both joint and local events presenting the life-work of J. H. Erkko and making people more aware of his versatile production.
In celebration of the memorial year, Otava published a book by Panu Rajala entitled Runoilijan sydän, J. H. Erkon täyttymätön elämä (“The poet’s heart, the unfulfilled life of J. H. Erkko”).
The donation sum was EUR 10,000.
