The Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation granted a donation for the Finnish Youth for Understanding organisation’s research project ” The Entire World as a Home – The Youth for Understanding association as a promoter of globalism in Finland 1958–2008″.

The archive material given to the Finnish National Archives by the Finnish Youth for Understanding forms the basis for an illustrated historical work that will celebrate the 50 year journey of the organisation.

The project is supported by the Finnish National Archives, which has made a commitment to support the project by giving facilities and equipment for the research worker to use and has also granted a permit for investigating the materials.

The research activity will take place in 2008 to 2011.

The donation, including the scholarship for the research worker and the publishing expenses, is EUR 80,000.
